Mr. Yee focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution, primarily in the electronic and computer arts, ranging from semiconductor processing to system-level computer architectures. His prosecution practice areas include software; system level technologies (database systems, networks, data switching devices); computer systems; storage systems (storage area networks, network attached storage, disk drive systems); microprocessor architecture (RISC machines, pipeline control mechanisms, vectored arithmetic logic); digital circuit design (address logic, memory access logic); and micro electromechanical systems (MEMS). Mr. Yee has also prosecuted cases in technical areas including financial software systems (credit and debit card transactions and processing); chemical monitoring systems (atmospheric gas analyzers); mechanical devices (DC brushless motors, motor control systems, cooling fans); semiconductor devices; and optical storage and optical display technology.
Mr. Yee’s practice includes patent reissue and patent reexamination proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Yee has also prepared and prosecuted trademark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Prior to joining the legal profession, Mr. Yee was a senior software design engineer at Teradyne Telecommunications in Illinois, where he developed control software for automated test systems; user interface software; system control software; and software testing tools for in-house use. Mr. Yee also worked as a quality assurance engineer at Harry Diamond Laboratories in Maryland, developing and testing reliability models for fused ordnance systems. As a junior programmer at Perkin-Elmer Corporation in Illinois, he developed control software for spectrophotometric devices and a GUI interface design tool for in-house use.
